What's in life

So I am posting an inspirational read that I really love.
This was part of our discussion way back our high school retreat. From that day on, few phrases has been stuck on my mind and now I'm so happy that I've finally found the whole article, (no idea though, who wrote this).

As always, thank you Google!
You are the best.

What's in life?

In life, there are two choices, to move forward or to stagnate. If you want to move forward, you have to turn your back from the past and face the present and future with your eyes open. You do no leave your other foot stuck in the past. If you do, you are immobilized and your failure will hold you back. You are left to cope with "what ifs", "should haves," and piles of regret. Nothing changes and when you feel this way, you start to believe that nothing will change. If you sincerely want to change, you drop the anger, the pain, the disappointment and sad experiences behind you.

It is hard to leave the past. It is difficult to forgive and forget the people who may have hurt you, but you mentally close the door of the past firmly behind you and open another door to freedom. When you leave your past behind, you don't carry over into your present life, a mental chart of the things or actions other people did to you. You do not spend three hours a day wringing your hands and trying to understand why the unfortunate incident happened. You do not moan over the unfair judgement passed on to you. What you do, if you want to positively get even, is to make your life so successful that your enemies will wonder how you recovered so fast! As one writer says "Living well is the best revenge."

Our life is determined by the choices we make. We make or break our lives, sometimes we come out unscratched. Usually we don't know it is up to us to mend our torn selves and put them back to pieces. Only when this is done we can say that we are free from the negative, misleading past. Life can only be understood backward, but it must be lived forward.

Camping experience at Anawangin Cove (Photo Roll)

So much firsts for this trip.

First long trip with friends.
First time to experience camping life.
First time to go beachin' with my friends of more than a decade.
And a lot more.

Destination:  Anawangin Cove, Zambales
Date: April 11 - 12, 2015

We availed a package tour from DLC Travel & Tours for 1,599.00 who had everything arranged from van going to Zambales, transfers, camping tents and cooking materials that we need to survive in our 2 days & 1 night stay.

Bags packed.
All set and ready to go!

Picture taking upon arrival at Pundaquit mainland.

While waiting for our ride to the island.

The Boat Ride to Capones Island

Arrival at Capones Island, before climbing to the Lighthouse

Brace yourselves for quite some walk under the summer heat going to the Capones Lighthouse.

You'll definitely pass by this view

Before going inside the lighthouse

Btw, getting to the top is such an experience to remember as well.
You need to go through steep and rustic stairs.

But when you reach the top, it is all worth it.

This is the view from the Lighthouse
Now that is such a fine sight

Group selfie, an even finer sight :)

After Capones Island, we are finally going to Anawangin Cove where we will be having our camping experience.

Glimpse of the cove

Arrival at the camping site..

Camping Tents at the site

and this is our shelter for 2 days :)

The tiring walk plus the scorching heat made us so hungry but the thing about camping is that you need to prepare your own food.

And we struggled so hard with the fire!

After what feels like eternity we were finally able to cook our food. Yey!

Fresh fish we bought at Pundaquit Market

Finally! Lunch/meryenda is served =)

Dinner by the bonfire

And this is what we have for dinner

The star of the night - S'mores by the bonfire!

The next day we wanted to have breakfast by the beach and so we did =)

Morning view

We were supposed to trek after breakfast but decided not to join the activity so we could just enjoy the beach and snorkel.

After the swimming and snorkeling we went back to our tent, prepped ourselves up for picture taking before we leave.

Selfie!!!

Photoshoot moments!

Bags packed again and we have to bid goodbye to this beautiful place.

Picture with Dexter, our awesome tour guide!

And that's it..

Thank you so much Anawangin for the wonderful experience!

We had so much fun and a lot of good memories to cherish.

And to my friends, anywhere with you girls will definitely be an exciting and memorable one!

Looking forward for more travels in the future  =)
